PTFE Gasket is a high-performance flat static sealing gasket formed by molding, turning and cutting with high-purity PTFE resin. Different from rubber gaskets, ordinary plastic gaskets and PTFE corrugated hoses, it relies on the natural chemical inertness of PTFE and is specially developed for flange flat sealing scenarios with corrosive media, extreme temperature and high cleanliness requirements. Free from aging and swelling of rubber or solvent erosion failure of ordinary plastics, it stably blocks strong acids, alkalis and various organic solvents. Products Description

 

This series of PTFE gaskets include virgin PTFE gaskets and filled modified PTFE gaskets, available in round, special-shaped and bolt-hole flange styles. Virgin PTFE is pressed from new pure resin without recycled materials for high cleanliness. Filled grades can be added with glass fiber, carbon powder or graphite to improve creep resistance and wear resistance and reduce cold flow under long-term compression. Finished gaskets feature uniform thickness, dense and flat surface without pores or delamination. They form a continuous sealing surface under compression and fit standard flanges and irregular equipment end faces. Working range covers cryogenic to high temperature conditions. Non-water-absorbent, non-adhesive to media and resistant to residue buildup, they withstand most corrosive fluids without swelling or dissolution. Supported by conventional cutting and precision CNC turning, non-standard shapes, thicknesses and holes can be customized according to drawings for static compression sealing of reactors, pipeline flanges, valve covers and tank connections.

Resistant to nearly all strong acids, alkalis, oxidants and organic solvents including aqua regia and halide fluids. Suitable for corrosive pipeline sealing where rubber and ordinary plastic gaskets cannot be used.

Continuous working temperature

Q: What are the core differences between PTFE gaskets and rubber gaskets?

A: The core differences lie in medium resistance, temperature resistance and service life. PTFE gaskets are rigid inert sealing materials with strong corrosion resistance, ultra-wide temperature range, anti-aging, anti-swelling and zero precipitation performance, suitable for harsh working conditions such as chemical corrosion, high-temperature steam, low-temperature cold chain and food & medical cleanliness. Rubber gaskets are soft elastomers only applicable to normal-temperature, low-pressure, clean water and ordinary oil conditions, unable to resist strong acid, alkali and organic solvents. They are prone to aging relaxation at high temperatures and cracking at low temperatures, with easy leakage and failure after long-term use. PTFE gaskets are preferred for harsh industrial conditions and can completely replace traditional rubber gaskets.

Q: Will PTFE gaskets stick to flanges and be difficult to disassemble?

A: No. PTFE gaskets have excellent inherent non-stick and self-lubricating properties with smooth surfaces and ultra-low friction coefficient, hardly adhering to flange end faces or scaling during use.
