Although metal hoses are compressible and extendable, improper installation positioning can lead to premature failure and a shortened service life.
Hoses may be installed horizontally, vertically, or at an angle; vertical installation is ideal. Avoid installing the hose near wheels; if necessary, install a protective shield.

Metal hoses are generally categorized by three lengths: the compressed length (the length when compressed to the limit), the installation length (the length at the midpoint of the maximum displacement range), and the extended length (the length when stretched to the maximum limit).
During installation, the hose should be positioned at its midpoint-the "installation length." In this position, the hose can move in two directions when subjected to axial loads; if movement is restricted to only one direction, the hose's strength and service life may be compromised.
In practice, measuring the hose length with a ruler based on calculations before installation can slow down production. To address this, some overseas manufacturers attach a ruler directly to the hose, which is then cut off after installation.
1. When selecting a metal hose, choose a model with a loose-fit (floating) flange at one end whenever possible to facilitate installation.
2. Protect the surface of the metal hose during on-site electric welding to prevent damage from weld spatter or arc strikes.
3. Do not install the metal hose in a twisted state.
4. Avoid bending the hose at the root (connection point) and prevent sharp, "dead" bends.
5. The conveyed medium must not be corrosive to the bellows material; the chloride ion content in the medium must be ≤ 25 ppm.
6. Install strictly according to the illustrated instructions (refer to the installation guide).
7. Prevent mechanical damage to the flange sealing surfaces.
